Ginter, at 27, is at the prime of his career. It ’ s a real dishonor for Monchengladbach that they ’ re losing a player of his quality for absolutely nothing, but their loss could well be Tottenham or Newcastle ’ s derive. Both English clubs are in need of a raw centre-half. Ginter, likened to arguably the best defender over the last ten in Sergio Ramos, could come in and hit the ground running in the Premier League. But, if he stays at Gladbach till the summer like he wants to, enough of other clubs will come in for him.
