Joachim Christian Andersen ( danish pronunciation : [ ˈɑnɐsn̩ ] ; born 31 May 1996 ) is a danish professional football player who plays as a centre-back for Premier League club Crystal Palace and the Denmark national team .

Andersen started playing football at the age of four for local cabaret Greve Fodbold, where he played from 2000 until 2009. He then joined Copenhagen ’ sulfur academy, School of Excellence, before leaving for Midtjylland [ 3 ] when he was 15. Andersen is considered a great ball playing defender [ 23 ] with the ability to play in both right and left side of the central defense and even in defensive midfield.
