David William Moyes ( MOYZ ; born 25 April 1963 ) is a scottish professional football coach and erstwhile actor. He is presently the coach of Premier League club West Ham United. He was previously the coach of Preston North End, Everton, Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland. Moyes was the 2003, 2005 and 2009 League Managers Association Manager of the year. Born in Glasgow, [ 1 ] Moyes started his career at Icelandic club ÍBV, playing half a season with the young person team in 1978. Preston North end [edit ]
Moyes took over as Preston North End director in January 1998, replacing Gary Peters as the club struggled in Division Two and were in risk of relegation. [ 2 ] His full-time occupation was as a pattern-maker and later a lecturer at Anniesland College in North Glasgow. Moyes ‘ mother, Joan, hailed from Portrush in Northern Ireland and worked in clothes stores in Glasgow. [ 94 ] His cousin, Dessie Brown, is repository of Coleraine Football Club. [ 101 ] He left London during the pandemic and worked in his home greenwich village in Lancashire delivering fruit and vegetables to those in motivation. [ 102 ] On 22 September 2020, shortly before an EFL Cup fastness against Hull City, Moyes and players Josh Cullen and Issa Diop tested incontrovertible for COVID-19 and left the background before the game.
