German-Croatian football player and coach

Edin Terzić ( pronounce [ êdiːn těrziːtɕ ] ; born 30 October 1982 ) is a German-Croatian [ 1 ] [ 2 ] professional football coach and former actor, who most recently served as the interim-coach of Borussia Dortmund. He is besides the current technical film director at Borussia Dortmund. [ 3 ]

early years [edit ]

Terzić was born in 1982, in Menden, West Germany to a wage-earning family that immigrated from Yugoslavia. [ 4 ] He is of parental Bosniak and maternal croatian descent [ 5 ] and holds croatian citizenship. [ 6 ] [ 7 ] Terzić played at the fourthly flush of professional leagues in Germany during his playing career. [ 4 ] He is an alumnus of Ruhr University Bochum where he studied Sports Science. [ 4 ]

Coaching career [edit ]

between 2010 and 2013, Terzić worked as a scout and adjunct coach in the youth academy of Borussia Dortmund, reporting to then first team director Jürgen Klopp. [ 8 ] [ 9 ] His old brother Alen besides works as a scout for Borussia Dortmund and served as caretaker coach of Borussia Dortmund II during the 2019–20 Regionalliga West season. [ 10 ] Terzić was an assistant bus of Slaven Bilić at Beşiktaş between 2013 and 2015 and at West Ham United from 2015 to 2017. [ 11 ] His collaboration with Bilić started in 2012, when Terzić drafted and delivered a pre-game adversary analysis for Croatia ‘s group stage peer against Republic of Ireland at Euro 2012. [ 12 ] Satisfied with the analysis, Bilić offered him to join him as adjunct coach at Lokomotiv Moscow, however, the deal finally fell through. [ 12 ] Bilić offered Terzić once again to join him at Beşiktaş and Terzić accepted the offer after consulting with Borussia Dortmund. [ 12 ] He followed him to West Ham United in 2015, but left the cabaret two years late when Bilić was sacked on 6 November 2017. [ 13 ] Since 2018, Terzić has held UEFA Pro Licence reservation, after graduating from an 18-month farseeing course of The Football Association in England. [ 14 ] Terzić returned to Borussia Dortmund in 2018 as an adjunct coach of the first gear team after the date of Lucien Favre as coach. [ 15 ] He took charge of the team along with his colleague Manfred Stefes for the 2018–19 confrontation against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, as head passenger car Favre missed the equal due to illness. [ 8 ] [ 16 ] After Favre was sacked following a 5–1 passing against VfB Stuttgart in December 2020, Terzić was appointed interim coach until the end of the 2020–21 season. [ 3 ] On 13 May 2021, Terzić won the 2020–21 DFB-Pokal with Borussia Dortmund as their passenger car. [ 17 ]
