Dominik Szoboszlai ( hungarian pronunciation : [ ˈsoboslɒi ] ; born 25 October 2000 ) is a hungarian professional football player who plays as a midfielder for Bundesliga club RB Leipzig and the Hungary national team.

Coming through the youth system, Szoboszlai made his senior introduction in 2017 with austrian club FC Liefering, the modesty team of Red Bull Salzburg. In January 2018, Szoboszlai debuted with the rear club, becoming a starter from the 2018–19 season. Following three seasons, where he helped his club win three league titles and two domestic cups, in January 2021, Szoboszlai moved to Germany at RB Leipzig, a baseball club associated with Red Bull Salzburg, for a reported of €20 million, making him the most expensive hungarian football player of all time. Szoboszlai represented Hungary internationally, both at youth and senior levels. Szoboszlai made his professional debut in the 2017–18 campaign, with the Liefering in the second division against Kapfenberg on 21 July 2017. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] He scored his first professional goal against FC Blau-Weiß Linz on 4 August 2017. [ 4 ]

During the 2017–18 season, he made his debut against Austria Wien on 27 May 2018. He entered the gear in the 57th minute as a substitute for Enock Mwepu. RB Leipzig [edit ]
On 17 December 2020, RB Leipzig announced the sign of Szoboszlai on a four-and-a-half-year contract, until June 2025. [ 10 ] He became eligible to play in January 2021. [ 10 ] With a report price of €20 million, Szoboszlai became the most expensive Hungarian player in history. [ 11 ] however, Szoboszlai could not feature in any match for RB Leipzig in the 2020–21 season due to a long-run injury. [ 12 ] He ultimately debuted on 7 August 2021 in a german Cup crippled against SV Sandhausen where he entered the pitch in the 78th minute and scored three minutes late. [ 13 ] On 20 August, he scored his beginning two goals in Bundesliga in a 4–0 winnings over VfB Stuttgart. [ 14 ]

Szoboszlai was the captain of Hungary U17 team during the 2017 UEFA european Under-17 Championship in Croatia, he scored two goals and his team finished 6th in this tournament. He besides was the captain of Hungary U19 team during the 2019 UEFA european Under-19 Championship crusade. He made his debut for U-21 team against Germany U21 on 1 September 2017. He received his first gear call up to the senior Hungary team for the friendly equal against Russia and 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification against Andorra in June 2017. [ 15 ] He made his introduction for the senior team on 21 March 2019 in a Euro 2020 modifier against Slovakia as a 54th-minute substitute for László Kleinheisler. [ 16 ] He scored his first external goal against the same adversary, Slovakia, in the same UEFA Euro 2020 run in a detached recoil at home.
