Bruno V. Gallo, MDBruno V. Gallo, MD joined First Choice Neurology and Baptist Hospital after 11 years in academic medicate. Before that he spent 4 years in private practice on the West Coast of Florida. He moved to Sarasota from his native Miami, after completion of his Epilepsy/EEG neurophysiology family at the University of Miami ’ s Jackson Memorial Hospital under the mentor of R. Eugene Ramsay, M.D. and Cosimo Ajmone-Marsan, M.D. His inner medicine and neurology residencies were besides completed at UM ’ s Jackson Memorial Hospital under the supervision of Walter G. Bradley DM, FRCP. He is a Neurology Attending and Consultant at Baptist Hospital, South Miami Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Jackson South. He is the recipient of the Peritz Scheinberg Clinical Neurology Award and completed the Bowman-Gray Mini-Epilepsy Fellowship under the direction of J. Kiffin Penry, M.D. Dr. Gallo developed a keen sake in motion disorders at the National Parkinson Foundation while foreman resident in his training. While in individual rehearse he acquired expertness in deep genius foreplay ( DBS ) and was among the early pioneers of this therapy along with other campaign disorders ( Parkinson disease, essential tremors, and dystonia ). He is presently Director of the Parkinson and Neuromodulation Center at Baptist Hospital. He besides performs the pre-operative evaluation, intra-operative record and test and post-operative program of cryptic brain stimulation ( DBS ) patients, vagal boldness stimulation ( VNS ), and the newly approved Duopa Intestinal Gel therapy. He completed novel innovative benchwork on anticonvulsant agents and is or has been a principal investigator/co-investigator on over 47 different Phase I and Phase II clinical research trials. He has written or co-written reserve chapters on Parkinson ’ s Disease, Epilepsy Surgery for the Elderly ; HIV & Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy & Deep Brain Stimulation ampere well as numerous abstracts and manuscripts for publications in Neurology, Muscle & Nerve, Epilepsia, NEJM and Epilepsy Research.
