After concerns that the crippled could be abandoned, both teams returned to finish the peer, but had decided to equitable run down the clock to end the game in solidarity with Hopp. quite than play on, the two sets of players began passing the ball to each other and chatting as if they were teammates. The very future day, the Bundesliga match between Vfl Wolfsburg and 1. FC Union Berlin was stopped at the 44th hour of play ascribable to derogative banners being unfurl, one of which showed Hopp under crosshairs. The two teams left the field to return 10 minutes later and play out the remainder of the one-half and subsequently the game. [ 33 ]
