Elina Mykhailivna Svitolina ( ukrainian : Еліна Михайлівна Світоліна, pronounced [ eˈl⁽ʲ⁾inɐ s⁽ʲ⁾wiˈtɔl⁽ʲ⁾inɐ ] ; [ 2 ] born 12 September 1994 ) is a ukrainian professional tennis musician. Coming off of her winnings in Tokyo, Svitolina hoped to continue her streak of success in the beginning of the north american hard court swing during the year ‘s US Open Series, but she cursorily failed to materialize all-important wins in the first two tournaments of the swing. Svitolina is a defensive baseliner, who possesses a unusually accomplished game. Her greatest strengths are her movement, footwork, focal ratio, stamen, and prediction, allowing her to return as many balls as possible, and to draw unforced errors out of aggressive players ; she is typically described as a counterpuncher.
